Position Summary:

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University, internationally recognized for its role in advancing Caring Science research, is offering postdoctoral fellowships in advanced statistical analyses, scientific and data science research. The areas of focus include: healthy aging across the lifespan, holistic health, health equity, and transforming nursing practice environments. Job Description:

The postdoc fellow position is a one-year assignment that may be extended for an additional year pending satisfactory performance and achievement of deliverables. The main research focus will be on data analysis, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and Holistic Health areas in Nursing.

Working alongside an interdisciplinary research team under the direct supervision of Dr. David Newman, Dr. Howard Butcher and Dr. Safiya George, postdoctoral fellows will undertake research in areas such as data science, caring science, cognition, mental health, health-related quality of life, among other health-related fields. The postdoctoral fellow will also assist with research project management and oversight, data analysis, proposal development, dissemination, and manuscript preparation.

Responsibilities:

The fellow will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, other postdocs, and students to develop and test statistical methodologies related to the use of real-world data (e.g., electronic health records and data collected by sensors or other technologies) for improved analysis of patterns in health science and nursing research. Fellows will be expected to publish their work in leading journals and present at major conferences, participate in college seminars, and regularly meet with research faculty and teams. There will also be opportunities to mentor junior team members and provide educational support. The ideal candidate will have a solid statistical and computational background, experience in processing and analyzing large datasets, and excellent communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

-PhD in Nursing, Experimental Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science Engineering, or Artificial Intelligence Engineering.

-All applicants must have data analysis skills and experience using statistical and data analysis programs like SPSS, STATA, SAS or R, Python, and Jupiter Notebook.

Salary:

$60,000 - $75,000 per year.
