Job Description

As a vital member of our data visualization team, the Power BI Developer will focus on creating, developing, and maintaining advanced interactive data visualizations, reports, and dashboards. Your contributions will help convert complex data sets into understandable and actionable business intelligence, crucial for our stakeholder decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Visualization: Work closely with business analysts and data engineers to craft effective visualizations and reports in Power BI.
• Dashboard Development: Create interactive, user-friendly dashboards that showcase key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and insights.
• Data Modeling: Develop optimized data models in Power BI to support efficient data analysis and visualization.
• Report Development: Build and manage various reports including detailed drill-through and paginated reports customized for diverse business requirements.
• Data Integration: Merge data from diverse sources like relational databases, data warehouses, APIs, and flat files into Power BI, maintaining high data integrity.
• Performance Optimization: Enhance the performance and responsiveness of Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Data Exploration: Analyze datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights, presenting them through impactful visualizations.
• User Training: Educate end users on utilizing Power BI tools effectively to maximize data interaction and insight extraction.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support knowledge transfer and consistent application of data analysis methods.
• Collaboration: Engage with various stakeholders to refine data visualizations based on their feedback and requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Analytics, or related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years’ experience in data visualization and Power BI development.
• Deep knowledge in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service.
• Expertise in data visualization principles, dashboard design, and UX best practices.
• Experience in data preparation, transformation, and integration using Power Query.
• Understanding of data modeling, database systems, and analytical problem-solving.
• Proficient in effective communication and collaboration across functional teams.
• Knowledgeable in data governance, quality, and security practices.
• Familiarity with other visualization tools like Tableau or QlikView and programming languages like SQL or Python is a plus.
• Experience with cloud data solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is beneficial.
