Title: Power BI Specialist
KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is searching for a Power BI Specialist to support the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project that aims to construct a Liquid Natural Gas export facility. When fully developed, this facility will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. Located about 20 miles south of New Orleans, this multi-phase project is expected to span over two years.
Supporting KBR’s commitment to sustainability, the 630-acre site on the Mississippi River provides deep-water access without the need for dredging, fostering an expedited, environmentally friendly development process.

The Power BI Specialist's role is critical in creating and managing interactive, visually appealing, user-friendly dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, design data models, and develop visually appealing and insightful reports. The Power BI Specialist is task with ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop
- Incorporate visualizations, custom visuals
- Implement calculated columns and measures to support advanced analytics
- Collaborate with business users to understand their data analysis needs and requirements
- Identify relevant data sources and ensure data quality and accuracy
- Extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI
- Create data models and relationships to support data analysis
- Integrate Power BI with other data sources and tools, such as Azure services, SQL databases, Excel, etc
- Implement data security measures to restrict access to sensitive information
- Problem-solve and collaborate with data providers to ensure requested reports deliver the required information
- Identify and resolve issues
- Debug and resolve data-related problems
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis
- Stay up to date with Power BI updates and new features to leverage performance improvements
- Visual storytelling, effectively assembling visuals and data to convey insights
Experience & Skills:
- Strong experience and understanding of Power BI
- Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards
- Solid understanding of data modeling, SQL, data visualization best practices, and proficiency in assembling visuals and data
- Data integration and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) experience
- Knowledge of data analytics and statistical analysis
- Experience with data visualization best practices and design principles
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and SQL
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Extensive knowledge in MS office, specifically excel
Additional Qualifications:
- In lieu of formal education, 12+ years of related experience working in the IT field including at least 2 years of Power BI experience
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred, and 4 years of related experience including at least 2 years of Power BI experience with an average experience ranging from 6-10 years
Preferred Qualification: Microsoft Power BI certification(s).
