Shell's Data Science and Machine Learning Capability Center (IDA team) is seeking a Principal AI/ML Engineer to spearhead the development and deployment of cutting-edge data science solutions. Your role will involve collaborative work across multiple business lines ensuring adherence to our high standards for digital solutions.

What This Role Involves:

As a Principal AI Engineer at Shell, your responsibilities will stretch from the initiation and development to the delivery of data science insights. Key tasks include managing large datasets, merging data sources, ensuring data consistency, and utilizing modeling to provide transformative business insights. You will:

  • Lead multiple AI projects within the IDA framework.
  • Manage a team of talented AI Engineers.
  • Enhance infrastructure for model training and deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management to align technology solutions with business needs.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends to continually foster innovation and efficiency within our projects.

What We Expect from You:

We are excited to engage with candidates who offer a robust background in Machine Learning and a proficiency in technologies such as Python, R, Kubernetes, and Azure Machine Learning Services. Ideal candidates should have:

  • Proven experience in designing and deploying machine learning solutions.
  • Strong skills in application development on cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Significant knowledge of data engineering, and automation tools such as Terraform and Helm.
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge technical teams and business units.

Additional desirable skills include familiarity with front-end technologies like React, .NET, and leadership in managing technical teams.
