Job Responsibilities
We’re seeking a passionate Principal Architect to join our team. Your role will focus on system architecture with an emphasis on scalability and efficiency. You will follow an enterprise architecture framework to support a computing environment that processes vast amounts of health data for data analysts and data scientists.
- Collaborate across multiple teams and programs while managing unique contexts and constraints to provide effective support and mentorship.
- Deliver technical strategies across non-technical stakeholders, engineers, and executive leaders.
- Drive technical solution requirements for developing enterprise-wide data-driven information systems.
- Create technical designs, product and vendor selections, application, and technical architectures.
- Provide subject matter expertise on applicable technologies and lead the decision process for identifying the best options.
- Oversee complex technology implementations with a focus on reengineering and refactoring for simplicity and efficiency.
- Ensure the strategic alignment of technical design and architecture to meet business growth and stay updated on emerging technologies.
- Develop and manage product roadmaps, backlogs, and measurable success criteria and write user stories.
- Enhance and maintain a systems/solutions architecture for a large data processing and reporting system supporting growth and modernization.
- Advocate for reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for data-centric solutions, FinOps, and Hyper-Automation.
- Use Agile framework and DevSecOps hyper-automation methodology to develop complex solutions.
- Support technically advanced organizations and third parties through easy-to-use integrations like REST APIs.
- Spearhead program innovations, continuous improvements, and advocate for Consumer-Driven Engineering.
- Build consensus across technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years leading system architecture for complex Data Pipeline and Analytics systems on the cloud.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or related discipline. Comparable experience may substitute for a degree.
- Experience in hands-on data-centric software development and designing solutions on complex architectures.
- Implement engineering best practices and iterative/continuous engineering principles.
- 6+ years designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud architectures for data-centric applications.
- 6+ years designing, implementing, and managing cloud big-data architectures (e.g., Databricks, Hadoop, EMR, Spark, Redshift).
- 5+ years managing CI/CD pipelines for DevSecOps, Data, and/or MLOps.
- 5+ years experience designing secure data solutions involving PHI and PII.
- 6+ years of large dataset engineering: data augmentation, quality analysis, analytics, profiling, algorithms, and data maturity models.
- Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing environment across multiple teams and organizations.
- Experience collaborating with customers and stakeholders to present and gain user adoption for solutions.
- Design cost-optimized cloud-scalable solutions and fix architecture issues affecting scalability and performance.
- Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- People management experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and reside in the United States.
Desired Qualifications
- Industry experience (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Healthcare, or commercial insurance) or direct experience with CMS.
- Data platform certifications, coding certifications (Python, R), and/or AWS Cloud Certifications.
