Position Summary

We're on the lookout for a Principal Data Engineer to lead the development and management of our data infrastructure. This pivotal role will facilitate data-driven decisions and enhance business operations, making significant contributions to our technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage Azure hosted ETL processes.
  • Orchestrate data workflows integrating diverse data sets.
  • Manage secure data exchanges using SFTP, Azure Storage, and AWS S3.
  • Ensure stringent data security and adhere to compliance standards.
  • Support and mentor within our inclusive engineering culture.
  • Lead Agile practices and SDLC activities.
  • Develop contingency strategies for data security.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists and software engineers to enhance data pipelines using Databricks.
  • Optimize large-scale data processing to balance efficiency and cost.
  • Create and manage REST servers to bolster data functions and administrative portal capabilities.
  • Develop models to personalize retail services and enhance customer targeting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of data engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and strong familiarity with Azure environments.
  • Extensive experience with SQL, data pipelines, and OLAP database design.
  • Leadership experience within an engineering team, demonstrating successful project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer-focused, B2B, or SaaS environment, especially within large enterprises.
  • Proficiency with Databricks and Postgres.
  • Experience with distributed work environments and OLTP database designs.
