About the Role

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer for a full-stack development role with a focus on Typescript and opportunities in C#. You will drive innovation, influence the development of the One Microsoft orchestrator, and bring new capabilities to App Chat Copilot and shared user experiences (UX). This role involves optimizing system performance and reliability at scale, and pushing the envelope with advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience with React, CSS, and HTML5.
• 5+ years of experience with problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting code.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
• Experience in cross-discipline and cross-group collaboration.
• Passion for customers, design thinking, data analysis, and technology.
• Experience in debugging and diagnosing web or service issues.
• Experience in shipping high-quality products is a plus.

Compensation

Software Engineering IC5 - The base pay range across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. For specific work locations such as the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
