Responsibilities

As a Principal Software Engineering Manager in Microsoft's flagship productivity suite M365, you will have the opportunity to build platforms and services at a planetary scale. M365 provides highly distributed, massively scaled, reliable, and compliant services for millions of users. In this role, you will:

  • Own components critical to Copilot Extensibility, impacting our topline and resolving customers' productivity and knowledge management challenges.
  • Oversee integrations with third-party (3P) data sources to enhance key experiences like Copilot, Search, Content Discovery, and Information Protection.
  • Address challenges unique to various platform components, from high-scale distributed systems to performance-constrained environments.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing large-scale platforms with expertise in distributed computing/microservices.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record as an effective engineering leader with a solid customer focus.
  • Proven ability to establish trusted, effective relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and cross-group collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to quickly learn existing concepts, employ new techniques, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
