Principal Statistical Programmer - R&D (Hyderabad, IN)

Main Responsibilities
As a Principal Statistical Programmer specializing in R&D, you will:
- Collaborate with junior Clinical Analytics Specialists, statistical scientists, project leads, and other stakeholders to design, develop, document, and maintain multiple, complex R-based packages and RShiny applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Mentor junior CAS members, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to foster their professional growth and ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Gather requirements, define project scope, and propose technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Drive innovation in R package and RShiny development practices by exploring new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality.
- Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and guidelines for R package and RShiny development within the team.
- Conduct performance optimizations and code refactoring to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of R-based software solutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in R programming language, data visualization, and web application development, and integrate new technologies into existing solutions as appropriate.
About You
Experience
Proven experience in R and Shiny programming in a clinical data environment across multiple therapeutic areas.
Skills
- Proven track record of successfully developing, implementing, and maintaining complex R-based analytic solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with agile software development methodologies and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira), version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
Languages
Strong English skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate fluently in a global environment.
