Job Summary: Principal Technology Architect – Data Strategy

This role is a key player at the forefront of leading the Enterprise Data Strategy and Future State (Data & Analytics) architecture to support our Business Strategy. The position encompasses strategy, cloud technology, data governance, critical thinking, leadership skills, people skills, and results orientation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategy: Data Capability Maturity Assessment, Data & Analytics/AI Strategy, Data Operating Model & Governance, Data Marketplace Enablement, Data on Cloud Strategy, Data Architecture Strategy, and change management for Data Transformation programs.
• Cloud: Technical understanding of data platform strategy for data on cloud migrations, big data technologies, and architecting large-scale data lake and DW on cloud solutions. Experience in technologies like AWS, Azure, Data Bricks, Hadoop, and Cloudera.
• Data Governance: Data Governance & Management SME for areas including Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), Metadata, data lineage, data catalog, and data semantics. Experience with technologies such as IBM Infosphere, Collibra, Talend, Informatica, and Alation.
• Critical Thinking: Ability to quickly analyze and develop a structured approach to solving complex problems.
• Big Picture Thinking: Ability to collaboratively look at problems from multiple angles to validate the rationale and explain it effectively.
• Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a team of architects and designers in a matrixed organization to deliver solutions while aligning with enterprise architecture principles.
• People Skills: Strong communication, facilitation, presenting, storytelling, and negotiation skills to interact with individuals across various levels and roles.
• Results Oriented: Drive architecture decisions to resolution in light of business realities and ambiguous requirements, engaging with delivery teams and stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 12 years of technical experience including:
  • Developing solution architectures for large enterprises with Enterprise Architects, Business Architects, and Application Architects; driving decisions to resolution with ambiguous requirements.
  • Application design and development with high transaction volumes.
  • Middleware and Integration technology design.
  • Message-based and Java-oriented technologies.
  • Knowledge management.
  • Developing standards, reference architectures, and guidelines for enterprise use.
  • Expertise in data, security, applications, integration architecture, and associated technologies.
  • Business and financial acumen.
  • Architecture input in prioritization and road mapping of capability improvements for a line of business.
  • Leading a team of architects to deliver solution architectures for capability improvements to a line of business.
  • Architecture trade-off analyses.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience leading multifunctional teams or initiatives.
  • Recognized thought leader within and external to the division.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in data architecture, data governance, and information management.
• Experience overseeing the production and implementation of solutions covering multiple cloud technologies, associated infrastructure, and application architecture.
• Ability to communicate complex technical or architectural options in a straightforward manner to decision-makers for informed investment decisions.
• Deep understanding of Data and Analytics platforms, data integration with cloud, and industry best practices in data governance and management.
