Job Summary: Privacy and Data Governance Architect

As a Privacy and Data Governance Architect at Wiz, you'll play a critical role in designing technical controls to implement robust data protection strategies. You'll collaborate closely with the Wiz legal, data protection, GRC, and security teams to develop and maintain comprehensive privacy and data governance frameworks, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our and our customers' data.

Location Note: We are seeking candidates in Denver, New York, Austin, or Washington D.C., and offer both remote and hybrid models in these locations.

What You’ll Do

• Develop Privacy and Data Governance Frameworks: Partner with Legal and Privacy teams to design and implement comprehensive frameworks adhering to industry standards and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.
• Data Lifecycle Management: Define and enforce procedures for data collection, storage, processing, and disposal to align with internal data policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Privacy and Data Governance by Design: Integrate privacy and data governance principles into our solutions and third-party applications, ensuring privacy-enhancing features and controls are in place.
• Security Controls Implementation: Implement best practices and security controls to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
• Continuous Compliance Monitoring: Implement ongoing compliance monitoring and testing solutions to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.

What You’ll Bring

• 6+ years of experience in privacy and data governance roles within cybersecurity, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Proven expertise in implementing data protection laws and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc. CIPT or similar certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies, data encryption, anonymization techniques, and identity and access management principles.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies, privacy impact assessments, and developing privacy-by-design principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CISSP, CISA) preferred.
