Position: Process Data Specialist
Are you excited about this opportunity? Join our Digital Performance Solutions team as a Process Data Historian Specialist. You will be part of a robust team, reporting to the Director of Digital Performance Solutions. While the role is based in Montreal, we are open to considering remote candidates within Eastern Canada, with regular visits to our head office.
Your Role
As a Process Data Specialist, you will play an integral role in assisting with data connectivity, data management, cloud platforms, process data historians, and visualization software tools for our customers. This role involves working both from our office and on-site at customer locations, deploying and supporting data management within industrial automation solutions. Your Responsibilities
- Implement, integrate, and test software applications, focusing on data historian platforms such as Aveva PI, Aspentech IP.21, and Capstone DataPARC.
- Design, configure, develop, and test dedicated data solutions in collaboration with customers.
- Test software applications for on-premises, virtual, and cloud-based deployment.
- Lead project delivery, including technical implementations, testing, and documentation using both Waterfall and Agile methods.
- Manage incident responses and service requests, providing troubleshooting and support for software applications.
- Work collaboratively with the broader Digital Foundations team to improve internal processes.
- Travel to customer sites may be required, although a large percentage of work will be conducted from our Laurentide Controls office.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering/Science or a Technologist Diploma (Chemical, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical) with a keen interest in technology.
- Certifications with AVEVA, Aspentech, or similar platforms are advantageous.
- Proficiency with Windows Server operating systems.
- Excellent customer service skills are desirable.
- Experience in Network Administration and Server Troubleshooting is an asset.
- Experience with databases (SQL, Mongo) and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with SQL server administration, ODBC connections, and communication protocols (TCP, OPC, Modbus) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and PLC’s is beneficial.
- Experience with HART-IP, JSON, MQTT is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities, technical curiosity, and solid problem-solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial work ethic, passion for customer service, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with Process Data Historians (e.g., Aveva PI, IP21, DataPARC) is required.
