Occupational Summary

As a Prospect Management Analyst, you will engage in extensive data collection, analysis, and documentation to support fundraising initiatives across Duke University. This role involves close partnership with a range of fundraising professionals to ensure effective progression through the solicitation cycle. Reporting to the Associate Director of Prospect Management, your contributions will directly impact the development and execution of fundraising strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect Management

In this important role, you will:

• Handle various department requests, including team assignments, data updates, and board clearances.
• Develop strategies to enhance the size and efficacy of the managed prospect pool, utilizing reports, prospect segmentation tools, and strategic analysis.
• Support strategic fundraising meetings, providing crucial data to inform decision-making processes.
• Assist in training and implementing comprehensive prospect management systems to maintain transparency and coordination across the university.

Relationship Management

Key activities include:

• Forge and maintain respectful partnerships with stakeholders to foster community engagement and optimized outcomes.
• Support conversations about portfolio management, system training, and strategic developments.
• Implement and disseminate best practices throughout Duke’s decentralized network.
• Collaborate with fundraising managers to evaluate and improve portfolio performance and strategies.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Our ideal candidate will bring:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills complemented by expertise in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in analytic tools like Tableau or SQL.
• At least one year of related experience, preferably within prospect development or a university setting.
• Familiarity with university or similar constituent database systems.
