As a Prototype Vehicle Test Operation Specialist, you will contribute to the development and commercialization of state-of-the-art electric vehicles. Our Test Specialists are crucial contributors, providing essential feedback to our engineering teams to advance this groundbreaking technology. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, substantial experience in driving prototype vehicles, and high attention to safety and detail. We are looking for individuals with a can-do attitude who approach work with vigor and determination.
Role Responsibilities:
- Test driving and evaluating test vehicles in real-world situations on test routes and tracks, performing safety inspections, executing specialized test procedures, and documenting findings.
- Assisting in diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and bench test systems.
- Assisting the team in the installation, upgrade, calibration, and configuration of sensors, ECUs, Software, etc.
- Performing vehicle check-ups, maintaining, and preparing vehicles for field testing daily.
- Being responsible for driving prototype vehicles on various public and private roads to test features, collect data, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Collecting data manually including mapping drives and verifying final data driv
- Building and following processes for the teams, documenting potential issues and improvements.
- Working efficiently within a multidisciplinary, cooperative environment on prototype, pre-production, show, and production vehicles.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid US driver's license.
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience for autonomous driving or automotive OEM companies.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to demonstrate safe driving in all weather conditions.
- Must be drug-free for this safety-sensitive position.
- Ability to drive for prolonged periods.
- Flexibility to work overtime and on weekends.
- Willingness to drive and travel to other domestic and international locations.
- Good vision, hearing, and motor skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional ability and enthusiasm to learn new skills and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AA/AS degree, or, demonstrable communication, analytic, mathematical, and reasoning skills consistent with an AA/AS degree.
- Credentials for operating vehicles at an OEM/Supplier automotive proving ground.
- Enrollment in DMV Pull Notice Program.
