Join Hudson River Trading as a Python Developer

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is actively seeking a skilled Python Developer to join our Compliance team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the inner workings of a highly successful automated trading firm.

Role Overview

As a Python Developer at HRT, you will be tasked with writing and testing scalable code, as well as developing processes to monitor firm-wide trading in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Leverage proprietary data using internal APIs and interfaces to create compliance and analytical reports
• Maintain and enhance the Compliance Development team’s report framework for greater efficiency and robustness
• Develop and manage ETL pipelines related to regulatory or compliance data
• Create new features and support our web-based compliance surveillance application
• Collaborate with other departments on technical projects
• Handle complex tasks with varying scopes, from quick fixes to long-term direction setting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline
• 1-4 years of relevant experience in Python or compliance
• Intermediate to advanced Python skills
• Experience with UNIX systems
• Familiarity with Python web frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI) is a plus
• Understanding of SQL and relational databases is a plus
• C++, JavaScript, and React experience is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Basic understanding of trading is advantageous but not required

Compensation

The annual base salary ranges from $150,000 to $200,000, depending on job-related skills and experience. Additional compensation includes a sign-on and discretionary performance bonus, as well as company-paid medical and other benefits.
