As one of our Quantitative Research Analysts, you will be involved in our investment decision process by performing quantitative research and analysis. With a concentration on global equity markets, you align quantitative theoretical structures, including portfolio development and risk and stock selection, with Capital Group’s fundamental research-driven investment procedure. You'll collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, macroeconomists, and other analytical teams. You enjoy interacting with investors on their vital investment views and approaches through written insights and direct communication.

You are proficient in mathematical concepts, financial topics, and coding.  You exhibit a strong comprehension of quantitative research and quantitative methods including stationary statistics, time series analysis, factor models, dimension reduction, discrete and continuous optimization, and machine learning techniques.  Your experience and insight will add to the evolving advancement of our quantitative research.

Regularly, you will formulate and convey investment insights and recommendations, and you'll actively enhance your process and presentation. You derive pleasure in discovering innovative manners of dissecting and visualizing data. You encourage teamwork and consistently contribute to group discussions.

  • You possess an in-depth knowledge of equity financial markets and analytics with a minimum of 10 years of suitable experience.

  • You hold a Master of Science, Master of Economics, and/or a PhD in a mathematically rigorous field; econometrics, mathematical finance, statistics, physics, or equivalent; a record of written research is strongly desired.

  • You possess strong consulting and relationship-building skills and have shown the capability to engage with investment professionals, communicate in various formats/forums, and deliver solutions that address business needs.

  • You fully understand the strengths, flaws, and implementation issues associated with standard investment management analytical measures and techniques. 

  • You are self-driven with the ability to work alone, as well as in coordination with others and the potential to cultivate a teamwork-oriented atmosphere.

  • You have experience in modeling using Python, R, SQL, or equivalent languages to explore areas of financial theory and practice.

  • You possess outstanding curiosity. Your research procedure is balanced due to your open-mindedness and critical thinking. You are an avid reader and a profound thinker. 

  • You have discovered that stepping out of your comfort zone paves the way for innovation. You are open to constructive opinions and perpetually seek to improve your work product. 

  • You communicate your findings and recommendations with humility and enthusiasm.

Besides a highly competitive base , as per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you will also be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, in addition to Capital’s annual profitability bonus and a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
