Opportunity Details

We're inviting applications for the role of Quantum Computing Research Scientist - Sr. Associate, focusing on diverse aspects of quantum computing:

  • Theory of Quantum Computation: Deep expertise in quantum algorithms related to optimization, stochastic modeling, numerical analysis, and machine learning.
  • Quantum Algorithms: Experience with empirical evaluations, compilation to fault-tolerant architectures, and high-performance simulation of quantum computers.
  • Quantum Error-correction: Knowledge in theoretical and practical aspects of error correction during the early fault-tolerant era.

Key Responsibilities

Theory of Quantum Computation and Quantum Algorithms:

  • Advance quantum algorithms applicable to fields like machine learning and finance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide innovative research solutions.
  • Work towards implementing these algorithms on practical hardware.

Quantum Error-Correction:

  • Lead advancements in the quantum error correction realm.
  • Collaborate on algorithm-specific error correction strategies and their experimental demonstrations.

Successful candidates will also document findings, contribute to JPMC’s intellectual property, and present at conferences.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in computer science, physics, math, or a related field, demonstrate strong research capabilities in quantum computing, and possess excellent communication skills.

Preferred Experience

Having a robust publication record, familiarity with quantum information theories, and prior experience in the financial sector will be advantageous.
