Job Description
As a Data Engineer at the Real Estate division of SMG (Swiss Marketplace Group), you will contribute to the formation of the data hub for the leading real estate platforms in Switzerland, which comprise homegate.ch and immoscout24.ch among others. You will be a part of an agile data team boasting an open mindset, and colleagues who appreciate acquiring new abilities and sharing their own.
About The Position
- You will design and develop data integration pipelines for the gathering, storage, and transformation of our data assets in the data lake, built around our data technology stack (AWS, Snowflake, Airflow)
- You will guarantee reliable operation and maintenance of the data infrastructure including orchestration of the cloud infrastructure, documentation, inspections on data quality, and operative efficiency
- You will establish ingestion frameworks and data contracts with stakeholders who control data-producing systems, such as software engineering teams
- You will oversee a data catalog to enable data-consuming stakeholders to reveal, apprehend, trust, and access our data assets
- You will contribute to creating and ameliorating data products (transformations, dashboards, logical data warehouse models, etc.)
- You will assist in building the data platform of the future
Qualifications
- Practical experience with data backends, a proven track record of implementing data pipelines
- Understanding of data lineage, data transformation, data modeling, data storage, data access, and data quality assessment methods
- Experience dealing with high volume diverse data
- Ideally, experience in forming data contracts and data catalogs in collaboration with stakeholders
- 3+ years of development experience, preferably in Python
- Practical understanding of ELT and tooling (i.e. dbt, Airflow, Luigi, Prefect)
- Experience in modern cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Amazon Redshift, Google Big Query, etc.
- Proficiency in English
