Role Overview: Regional Medical Lead

The Regional Medical Lead will be a vital field-based scientific resource for healthcare providers, industry partners, and internal colleagues, focusing primarily on AI-based quantitative coronary plaque analysis. This role integrates with various HeartFlow groups, including Clinical, Professional Education, Market Access, Technology, and Commercial teams, to ensure alignment with HeartFlow’s business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Establishing and fostering professional relationships with national and regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in lipid management and preventive cardiology, alongside internal business partners.
• Supporting the identification and training of educational faculty.
• Serving as a key HeartFlow scientific resource in the field, conducting HCP education, including advanced data and case reviews.
• Gathering feedback and insights from KOLs and physician advisors to better inform HeartFlow's strategic direction.
• Identifying and supporting regional educational opportunities.
• Facilitating initial discussions, intake, and evaluation of physician-initiated research proposals in collaboration with the Clinical team.
• Maintaining expertise through up-to-date scientific knowledge and attendance at national and local congresses.
• Driving podium presence at major meetings, supporting corporate communication strategies and plans.
• Supporting field and internal training needs as a clinical expert.

Required Skills

• Intellectual curiosity and intelligence about cardiovascular disease and coronary artery disease management.
• Ability to comprehend, synthesize, and communicate large amounts of scientific content clearly and concisely.
• Proven track record in self-managing priorities, multitasking projects, building relationships with KOLs, educating HCPs, and applying critical thinking to scientific and clinical research challenges.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a start-up environment.

Educational Requirements & Work Experience

• Advanced clinical or scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO, MS, PA, ARNP) preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiovascular, ideally in lipid management.
• Experience in pharma, biotech, and/or medical devices, preferably as a medical science liaison (MSL).
• Proven experience in communicating complex scientific information effectively to healthcare practitioners and internal teams.
• Advanced presentation and computer skills with expertise in literature identification and evaluation.

This position requires significant travel (~50% of time) by automobile and air. The estimated base salary is $180,000 - $220,000, complemented by a cash bonus and stock options.
