JOB PURPOSE

Janes is hiring a Research Analyst C4I & General Services for the Bangalore office in India. The analyst will work in the Aerospace & Defence sector, and will be tasked with maintaining and updating a range of market forecast solutions in an analytically rigorous manner, considering industry insight, as well as associated geopolitical, military, and economic factors.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION AT JANES

  • Conduct market research (qualitative and quantitative), perform statistical analyses, and provide business intelligence to support various market forecast products.
  • Establish connections and relationships between different defence equipment, weapon systems and programmes based on configuration, pricing, requirement and operability.
  • Identify and analyze contracts in the aerospace and defence field and develop new market segments and functions.
  • Monitor news insights and press releases for further opportunities in defence procurement and the impact of policies on future market outlook.
  • Identify gaps in existing databases and carry out thorough monthly audits regarding various parameters across the C4I & General Services databases.
  • Sort through vast amounts of data in excel and parse information.
  • Prepare monthly reports documenting specific database changes and keep track of worklogs.
  • Support a range of consulting, editorial and other analysis projects with genuine insights and demonstrate value to the C4I & General Services portfolio

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in the field of market research and open source intelligence with a focus on tracking contracts, tenders, price information. Experience in the Aerospace and Defence sector will be considered an added advantage.
  • Experience in the Military Communications, Command & Control, Intelligence and General Services markets, industry, technologies, and trends (including related electronics, software, system integration and infrastructures).
  • Experience of working within a data environment (databases, data transformation, data validation or similar).
  • Computer skills that include an in-depth understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications. Proficiency in Power BI would be a plus.
  • Proven record of undertaking project-oriented work within strict deadlines, leading projects, engaging with industry and managing large amounts of content.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and work with new information technology applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including editorial, consulting exposure, and public speaking.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a logical approach to solving problems as well as the ability to identify critical aspects of C4I markets, like industrial capacity, technical characteristics, and competitive environment.
  • Educational qualification – Bachelor’s degree in related disciplines such as economics, international relations & politics or data science.
