Join Our Team as a Research Associate in Air Traffic Control at NTU
The Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI), a leading innovator in air traffic management science and technology, is partnering with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to offer an exciting career opportunity. Established in 2013, ATMRI is at the forefront of enhancing the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of global air transport systems.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Research Associate, you will:
- Design and execute experiments to test the usability, efficiency, and effectiveness of new automated tools in air traffic control.
- Apply human factors principles and ergonomics to improve the user interface of air traffic control systems, enhancing user experience and minimizing errors.
- Use advanced physiological sensors such as EEG, ECG, and eye-tracking to evaluate the workload and mental state of air traffic controllers during their duties.
- Analyze physiological data to discern patterns and significant trends linked to workload peaks and fatigue in controllers.
- Work collaboratively with diverse teams spanning ATC operations, software development, and quality assurance.
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Master’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Ergonomics, Industrial or Interaction Design, or a closely related field.
- Substantial experience in human factors research, ideally in safety-critical environments like air traffic control.
- A strong foundation in user-centered design and usability testing methodologies.
- Expertise in physiological monitoring technologies and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in experimental design, statistical analysis, and a good grasp of machine learning applications.
- The ability to operate both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
NTU offers a vibrant working environment where innovation and passion are rewarded. We regret to inform that only candidates who are shortlisted will be notified.
