Job Description

HII's Mission Technologies is seeking a dedicated Engineer for Research Development (Engineer Research Development 3) to support the Joint Force Development Research and Analysis for Joint Staff J7 (JS J-7) at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Initiate, design, develop, execute, and implement scientific research projects.
• Develop theories to understand and characterize natural phenomena for new products or inventions.
• Participate in intellectual property evaluations and patent development.
• Coordinate interdepartmental research activities.
• Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts broadly, with general knowledge of related disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field.
• No experience required with a Ph.D. or Juris Doctorate in a related field.
• Or, 9 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
