Research Engineer - Fine-Tuning API

About the Role

We are searching for an experienced research engineer to help advance our Fine-Tuning API. Your responsibilities will include researching and implementing the methods developers use to customize their models on our API. You will work closely with our research team to investigate new and untested fine-tuning methods. In addition, you will team up with our engineering group to apply these methods in production. Your efforts will aid in the customization of GPT models for developers globally.

In this role, you will:

• Research and explore foundation model fine-tuning methods for end-customer use cases.
• Place your research into production for customer usage.
• Engage with developers to understand their requirements.
• Collaborate extensively with various stakeholders, including product, research, go-to-market, and engineering.

You might succeed in this role if you:

• Have previous experience fine-tuning LLMs.
• Have worked with large distributed systems for both model training and inference.
• Have built production machine learning systems at internet scale.
• Take full ownership of problems and are prepared to gain any knowledge that you're lacking to complete the task.
• Can work swiftly in an environment where things are sometimes vaguely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines.

Compensation, Benefits and Perks

The annual salary range for this role is $245,000 - $450,000. The total compensation also includes generous equity and benefits.
