At BMAT, our mission is to construct a comprehensive and dependable music consumption database for diverse clients, from record labels to music publishers and industry associations. We are now seeking a talented Research Engineer to join our R&D team in advancing music data and audio processing through machine learning.

Role Overview

As a Research Engineer, you will be tasked with supporting various projects that involve data science, academic research, and software development. Your role will focus on transforming research ideas into usable code, ensuring efficient deployment on our servers or AWS. The ideal candidate will bring a robust research mindset and extensive knowledge in the field, capable of solving complex problems within the music industry.

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying industrial machine learning projects with noisy, real-world data.
• Familiarity with modern LLM technologies (a significant plus).
• Expertise in contributing to or leading industrial software projects, with a focus on software engineering best practices.
• Experience with cloud environments like AWS and backend engineering fundamentals including databases (SQL and non-SQL), HTTP APIs, and web services.
• Proficiency in using Docker for application packaging and deployment.

Expectations

• Within 30 days: Acclimate with our technologies and start making precise contributions.
• Within 60 days: Take on responsibility for specific developments and components of ongoing projects.
• Within 90 days: Become a leading figure within the team, capable of managing initiatives and owning project implementations.
