Position Overview

INSPIRASI, the Indonesia–NTU Singapore Institute of Research for Sustainability and Innovation, is on the lookout for a talented Research Engineer to lead projects in trusted decentralized data sharing and privacy-preserving artificial intelligence. This role is crucial in developing, implementing, and overseeing systems in areas such as security, privacy, sovereignty, and blockchain—all vital components of our innovative platform. The position primarily focuses on advancing technologies that enable privacy-preserving data sharing and machine learning to enhance collaborative intelligence and privacy measures.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead research and development in decentralized data sharing and privacy-preserving AI, translating complex algorithms, tools, and frameworks into functional prototypes.
- Collaborate closely with researchers to design and develop system implementations, transitioning from research to product-ready solutions.
- Develop tools that facilitate the technology transfer of new capabilities to research partners and demonstrate the value of research findings.
- Author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, presentations, and papers to support advancements in trust technologies testing and education.

Job Requirements

- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Essential proficiency in programming languages such as Java and C/C++, with additional experience in Python, Go, Spring as an advantage.
- Strong skills in Linux environments (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) including shell scripting are required.
- Experienced in developing network and communication protocols, and skilled in socket programming in cloud-based systems.
- Must have proficiency in SQL database installation, configuration, and usage; familiarity with NoSQL, Hadoop is beneficial.
- Experienced in using and developing applications with virtualization technologies to enhance cloud service performance.
- Experience in developing full-spectrum ML systems, from data exploration and feature engineering to model training and evaluation, will be advantageous.
- Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders, explaining complex research technologies with ease.
- Well-versed in system platform development, middleware technologies, API development, and understanding of API security concepts like key validation, authorization, and authentication.
- Good knowledge in relational databases and Unix shell scripting.
