Job Description:

The Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) at Penn State is looking for a Research Engineering Project Manager to enhance our Project Management team. This position offers a hybrid work model, necessitating 2-3 days per week on-site in University Park, PA. This role is a limited-term position, funded for two years, with a strong potential for renewal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead research computing-based projects, overseeing daily operations and collaborative efforts with various teams.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and reporting to ensure projects are completed successfully.
  • Provide expertise in engineering and project management to support university faculty and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates with over 3 years of experience.

Skills Required:

  • Proven ability in coordinating and executing strategic objectives tied to research computing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships across diverse groups.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.

Desired Qualifications:

Candidates should also demonstrate experience in university internal communications, delivering external presentations, and providing constructive feedback within technical teams. Experience in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in research settings is a plus.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $76,700 - $129,500, based on experience and qualifications.
