Position Overview

As a Research Fellow, you will join an interdisciplinary team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of machine learning and artificial intelligence. You will leverage your experience in natural language processing and large language models to develop, implement, and enhance innovative concepts such as retrieval-augmented generation, conversational information retrieval, multimodal sense-making, and advanced question-answering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) models.
• Create and refine prototype systems that support conversational information retrieval and multimodal sense-making.
• Author and publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals.
• Collaborate closely with team members and liaise with funding agencies to ensure high-quality and timely project deliverables.
• Co-supervise MSc and Final Year Project students who are contributing to the research initiative.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven expertise in natural language processing and familiarity with large language models.
• At least 3 years of research experience in relevant areas.
• An outstanding publication record in esteemed conferences and journals.
• Proficiency in Python and excellent communication skills in English.
• PhD candidates close to thesis submission (within 3 months) are also encouraged to apply.
