Job Opportunity: Research Fellow in Soft Robotics/Design at NTU
The School of Materials Science & Engineering at NTU invites applications for a Research Fellow position with significant expertise in hardware design and development. The selected candidate will spearhead the innovation of next-generation soft grippers, engineered with physics-guided neural networks. These advanced grippers will showcase optimized functionalities, utilizing ongoing research in actuation, sensing, and cutting-edge fabrication by the SGSR team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and test new advanced soft grippers.
- Develop and execute experiments to collect data for training and optimization.
- Collaborate with various teams to gather data on sensing and actuation.
- Oversee gripper control mechanisms.
- Design and optimize hardware setups for soft grippers relevant to their applications.
Job Requirements
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Robotics.
- Proficient CAD user (SolidWorks or Fusion 360).
- Evidence of prototype development from concept to implementation (e.g., portfolio).
- Experience with Machine Vision.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python, as well as embedded systems.
- Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing processes.
