The Applied Sciences Group at Microsoft has been pivotal in developing transformative computing solutions such as the Surface Pro and Surface Hub. Currently, we are pushing the envelope with advanced AI and machine learning technologies, focusing on enhancing Natural User Interactions (NUI) through research and development in large language models and other sophisticated AI tools.

What You Will Do

As a Research Intern, you will collaborate with leading engineers and researchers to design and prototype groundbreaking interactions with technology. This internship affords the freedom to explore and conceptualize how AI can fundamentally alter our approach to device engagement. You will be immersed in a supportive environment that encourages innovation and creativity at every turn.

Core Responsibilities

During your 12-week internship, you will:

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking passionate individuals currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Computer Science or a related STEM field, equipped with a curious mind and an eagerness to solve complex problems.

Applicants who have experience in AI-driven applications, possess rapid prototyping skills, and demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++ will stand out. Compensation and Benefits

Research Internship positions are well-compensated, with monthly salaries ranging from $5,090 to $12,170 depending on your academic level and geographical location. Additional benefits, including specific compensation packages for roles in San Francisco Bay Area and New York City, are also provided.
