Your Impact

We're looking for exceptional individuals to join our translational biology sub-team within the translational science department. These roles are perfect for experienced translational biologists skilled in designing robust screening cascades to provide experimental evidence for our AI-designed medicines.

You will work with leading experts in AI, ML, and drug design to test biological hypotheses and develop a deep understanding of drug-target interactions in diseases. Your responsibilities will include establishing translational strategies and advancing our oncology, immunology, and partnership portfolios from early drug discovery to clinical phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to biological screening cascades for various drug design programs, focusing on translating preclinical studies into clinical efficacy.
• Define appropriate model paradigms (in vivo, ex-vivo, etc.) and develop biomarker strategies for early clinical proof of concept.
• Collaborate with CROs to design decision-making experiments and deliver high-quality biological data.
• Provide expertise to AI/ML/computational biology teams in developing biological system models.
• Distill biological data into actionable insights for project leaders and team members.
• Lead or integrate within projects to deliver strategic input for project success.
• Contribute to regulatory documentation for preclinical and clinical work.
• Work cross-functionally with the Drug Design and Technology teams.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

• BSc, MSc, or PhD in a relevant biology field.
• Deep understanding of target, mechanism, and disease relationships, preferably in oncology and/or immunology.
• Expert knowledge of innovative translational models focusing on oncology and/or immune disorders.
• Extensive experience in developing TPPs and biological screening cascades in the pharma/biotech industry.
• Proven track record in constructing translational data packages and biomarker strategies for clinical trials.
• Experience in designing PK-PD experiments for human dose prediction.
• Collaboration with ADMET, Formulation, and Clinical Pharmacology specialists in refining strategies.
• Management of complex datasets via external CRO relationships.
• Dynamic and agile, capable of working across multiple projects and therapeutic areas.
• Effective communicator with a collaborative and inclusive mindset.

Nice to Have

• Project leadership or domain area leadership experience within drug discovery programs.
• Track record of contributing to drug design projects that have delivered clinical candidates.
• Experience in de-risking strategies, long-term issue anticipation, and inspiring medicinal chemistry strategy changes.
• Understanding of the competitive landscape in oncology and/or immunology/inflammation.
• Knowledge of translational biological assays for alternative modalities or chemistries.
• Familiarity with machine learning models applied to biological systems.
• Experience with various biological mechanisms, disease indications, and administration routes.
• Good understanding of medicinal chemistry concepts.
