Your Role as a Research Scientist

As our next Research Scientist, you will apply innovative techniques to create new, accurate, and efficient indemnity applications. You will consistently seek and initiate research topics/hypotheses to solve intricate computing tasks and develop new software products using advanced algorithms and data science techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with stakeholders to determine needs/weaknesses
  • Design experiments to evaluate system operations
  • Analyze experiment results
  • Formulate mathematical models to enhance underwriting results
  • Present findings and recommendations to management
  • Specify business requirements for IT projects
  • Monitor and enhance the performance of implemented solutions
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project activities with product development and actuarial teams

Qualifications

  • U.S. Master’s degree in any quantitative discipline
  • 2 years’ experience in:
    • Updating and enhancing indemnity-related decision support programs
    • Analyzing needs
    • Transforming requirements into technical specifications
    • Providing proof of concept for software solutions
    • Implementing indemnification solutions
    • Troubleshooting and performing fixes
