Job Opportunity at NTU: Research Scientist in Learning-based Model Compression and Green Computing

A Corp Lab at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for the position of Research Scientist. The successful candidate will conduct groundbreaking research focused on learning-based model compression and green computing.

Key Responsibilities

As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting pioneering research in learning-based model compression and green computing.
• Systematically investigating the characteristics of large models to meet new AI requirements.
• Devising innovative schemes for just noticeable differences in model compression.
• Setting up and analyzing experiments and datasets under various conditions.
• Proposing methodologies or frameworks in software prototypes for project development.
• Reporting research findings through reports, patents, papers, and presentations at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
• Mentoring PhD, Master’s, and FYP students.
• Performing intelligent lightweight and green computing.
• Submitting comprehensive reports, IDs, demos, and papers summarizing and justifying innovative research work.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must have:

• A PhD degree in computer science, electronic engineering, applied mathematics, perception sciences, or a related field.
• Background knowledge in signal/data compression, and data-driven machine learning/analysis.
• Strong technical reading, writing, and programming skills.
• Proven experience and a strong track record in related research and development.
• A high desire for technological exploration and achievement.
• Experience in state-of-the-art AI techniques.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C, Matlab, etc.) is highly valued.
• Self-motivation, drive, and the ability to collaborate with other researchers and scientists as a team player.
