Opportunity Spotlight: Computer Vision Research Scientist for Mixed and Virtual Reality (PhD)

Meta is seeking highly skilled researchers with expertise in 3D Computer Vision to become part of our Core-AI operations—a team that integrates elite CV ML researchers addressing complex problems within Mixed and Virtual Reality environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Advancing the state-of-the-art in 2D and 3D Computer Vision and Machine Learning, including areas such as Neural Rendering and Generative AI.
  • Setting ambitious long-term goals and identifying strategic short-term milestones.
  • Contributing research that enhances Meta's VR, MR, and AR product offerings.
  • Collaboration on global projects and presenting findings in top-tier CV and graphics conferences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, or a related technical field (must be completed before joining).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant field (must be completed before joining).
  • Experience in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or closely related fields.
  • Proficiency in programming with Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Must secure work authorization in the country of employment and maintain it throughout the tenure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Record of significant achievements (e.g., grants, fellowships, patents).
  • Experience evidenced by publications in leading journals/conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV).
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle complex, challenging problems and create practical, effective solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex ideas.

Compensation and Benefits

Meta offers a comprehensive salary range of $117,000 to $173,000/year, augmented by bonuses, equity, and a robust benefits package. Specific compensation may depend on skills, qualifications, and location.
