Job Description - Research, develop and validate innovative system-level solutions for creating self-organizing systems that enable flexible production lines. - Promote innovation in the field of industrial production system and make pertinent enterprise architecture decisions to facilitate use cases in a scalable manner. - AI Integration on Edge computing for a flexible production planning system. Develop and implement IT/OT architecture using Bosch’s IT infrastructure, drive and control platform and technologies. - Collaborate with business units on profitable and industrial sustainability initiatives, contribute to Bosch's long-term product portfolio, conduct customer interviews, formulate problem statements, and create innovation pitches and research proposals. - Develop comprehensive solutions from sensor-level integration to system-level simulation and the development of automation solutions. Primarily focus on researching, developing, integrating cutting-edge techniques for automation. - Additionally, must be able to express research problem statements, design experiments and develop proof of concepts. - Generate collaboration, evaluate opportunities, identify “Best-In-Class” within local institutions and universities for potential research / innovation cooperation. - Regular alignment with Strategic Research Portfolio Owner, quarterly review of project updates, stakeholder management, idea pitching via Bosch Innovation Framework. Qualifications - Minimum Master or PhD degree in Engineering field, specialized in mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical and electronics engineering, robotics, or a related field. - At least 3 years’ work experience as an R&D engineer or academic staff in automated and autonomous system related robotic automation, modelling, simulations, control, data analytics, machine learning, digitalization, and connectivity for smart factory, automated diagnostics, industrial AI applications, industrial (assembly and disassembly) production in real-world customer applications, and related software engineering experiences. - Experience with industrial automation technologies (programming robots online & offline, PLC, HMI, and troubleshooting mechatronic systems), I4.0 connectivity technologies, digital twin, software-defined manufacturing, and production planning system based on artificial intelligence (AI) - Entrepreneurial (start-up) and product industrialization experience is highly valued. - Passion for innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, good work ethic, ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
