Opportunity Highlight: Research Internship in FAIR Chemistry

The FAIR Chemistry team at Meta is dedicated to revolutionizing material science using AI-driven approaches. Our projects include developing innovative solutions for carbon reduction technologies, advancements in nano-porous materials, and breakthroughs in display technology. As an intern, you'll contribute directly to these transformative projects, making substantial algorithmic enhancements and experiencing their application on a global scale.

This internship varies from twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks, with flexible start dates available throughout the year, accommodating your academic commitments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Developing comprehensive datasets for training and testing AI models specialized in Chemistry.
  • Formulating, advancing, and scaling AI models using PyTorch for various chemistry applications.
  • Executing large-scale chemistry simulations integral to our research development.
  • Optimizing both classical and machine learning-based chemistry software for enhanced efficiency.
  • Contributing to research papers and the release of associated open source data/code.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidates must be in the process of obtaining or already hold a Ph.D. in relevant fields such as Machine Learning, Chemistry, or Artificial Intelligence.
  • Prior experience applying AI in scientific domains, with an emphasis on real-system experiments and data-driven modeling.
  • Proficient in programming languages like Python, C++, and experience with deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch or TensorFlow.
  • Must be eligible to work in the country of employment during the time of internship and beyond.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong desire to return to academia post-internship while showcasing a proven ability to deliver empirical research results.
  • Robust problem-solving skills utilizing quantitative approaches backed by first-authored publications in top-tier conferences.
  • Experience in software development, with a portfolio demonstrating contributions to open-source platforms like GitHub preferred.
