Meta's Generative AI Organization is on the lookout for a dynamic Research Scientist Manager to lead our Llama team. As an integral part of our team, you'll spearhead the advancement of our next-generation Large Language Models (LLMs), including our recently open-sourced Llama 2 and the newly launched Meta AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a robust team of experts in LLM research and generative AI.
• Define and implement a long-term technical vision and strategy.
• Lead the development of cutting-edge models and systems.
• Engage in active communication and relationship-building with clients and cross-functional teams to drive collaborative projects.
• Stay abreast of technological advancements within the team, assisting with technical challenges and contributing to design decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven leadership in research project management.
• Extensive experience in NLP, Transformer modeling, and large language models in both research and engineering capacities.
• Strong track record of leading and supporting software engineering and research science teams.
• Experience in setting technical direction and vision for generative AI fields.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple functions including product and platform teams.
• Experience in recruitment, team-building, and leading technical organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience in training and development of LLMs.
