About the Role:

Google Quantum AI is on a mission to unleash the vast capabilities of quantum computing by building large-scale computers tailored for complex, error-corrected computations. As a Research Scientist on the System Optimization and Stability team, you will have a pivotal role in developing technologies that enhance the performance of state-of-the-art superconducting quantum processors. Your work will involve creating qubit error models, developing calibration/optimization protocols, and utilizing big data tools to drive advancements in quantum control and hardware architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement metrology tools to evaluate component and system performance of quantum processors.
  • Optimize automated calibrations to achieve and maintain high fidelity in quantum gates, readout, and algorithm performance.
  • Contribute to the design and software development for cutting-edge quantum control systems.
  • Collaborate in deploying new control systems and support hardware characterization.

Compensation and Benefits:

The position offers a competitive salary range of $136,000 to $200,000, exclusive of bonuses, equity, and benefits. The specific salary package will depend on job location and can be discussed during the hiring process.
