Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Physics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of coding experience.
- A minimum of 1 year managing and initiating research agendas.
- Experience in calibrating, operating, and benchmarking quantum systems.
- Expertise in engineering software for statistical analysis, optimization, and machine learning applications.
About the Role:
Google Quantum AI is on a mission to unleash the vast capabilities of quantum computing by building large-scale computers tailored for complex, error-corrected computations. As a Research Scientist on the
System Optimization and Stability team, you will have a pivotal role in developing technologies that enhance the performance of state-of-the-art superconducting quantum processors. Your work will involve creating qubit error models, developing calibration/optimization protocols, and utilizing big data tools to drive advancements in quantum control and hardware architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement metrology tools to evaluate component and system performance of quantum processors.
- Optimize automated calibrations to achieve and maintain high fidelity in quantum gates, readout, and algorithm performance.
- Contribute to the design and software development for cutting-edge quantum control systems.
- Collaborate in deploying new control systems and support hardware characterization.
Compensation and Benefits:
The position offers a competitive salary range of
