Who we are
We are creating an artificial intelligence capable of intricate driving using comprehensive deep learning; an AI that can scale across a variety of urban environments. Wayve is developing a complete driving software system, driven by data at every level and learning to drive. Our unique end-to-end machine learning method learns to navigate complex, unprecedented urban environments. We learn to drive using computer vision, by observing human driving and utilizing reinforcement learning.
The problem we tackle is one of the world's most difficult and impactful. That's why we're building a diverse, top-tier team motivated by the opportunity to work with brilliant people on challenging problems that will have a positive impact on society.
Where you will make a difference
- By contributing to performance and reliability, ensuring our and our partners' fleets are well-calibrated.
- By integrating an efficient calibration workflow into our commissioning processes for new platforms.
- By contributing to the roadmap for SLAM / odometry pipelines to support sensor calibration.
- By understanding tools and methods used across industries and academia, and managing projects from proof-of-concept to production when suitable.
Challenges you will undertake
- Optimizing calibration time after vehicle commissioning or hardware changes
- Improving robustness of software and tools used in calibration workflow
- Collaborating with vehicle technicians / workshop to train and delegate parts of vehicle calibration process
- Creating process / tools for calibration triage; quickly identifying and localizing problems
What we are looking for
- Practical experience with calibrating robotics sensors in real-world applications
- A strong systems engineer
- Experience working with large-scale deployments
- Experience with triage and debugging in robotics systems even without physical access
Essential
- Experience in building calibration solutions
- Computer vision approaches (classical / learnt) for sensor calibration (feature detection, feature matching)
- Strong software skills (Python and C++)
Desirable
- Experience building automated, and/or targetless camera calibration solutions
- Experience working closely with SLAM / VO for multimodal sensor calibration
- Experience in large data pipelines construction with PySpark or equivalent
What we offer you
-
Competitive compensation with salary and equity
-
An engaging environment with world-class researchers, engineers, and entrepreneurs
