About the Role

We are excited to announce an opening for a Robotics Software Engineer to primarily support our new Outreach Center located in Kendall Square, Cambridge. This role involves transforming internal AI demos into engaging, educational experiences for public interaction in our prestigious Outreach Center. If you're passionate about bringing robotics closer to the community and have a knack for innovative projects, this position is for you.

Key Responsibilities

As a Robotics Software Engineer, you will:

• Collaborate with a team of engineers and researchers to adapt research prototypes for public display.
• Work closely with research teams to enhance robot software systems.
• Ensure software quality and reliability through regular code reviews.
• Develop high-performance algorithms and refine system functionalities.
• Create intuitive UI front-ends for enhanced user interaction.

What We Need From You

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience with C++ or Python in production environments.
• Proficiency in ROS 2 or equivalent tools for building robotic applications.
• Experience in designing interactive front-ends and dashboards for both mobile and web platforms.
• Familiarity with git, issue tracking, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for demos and events.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Desirable Experience:

• Background in machine learning.
• Experience with various robot platforms.
• Knowledge of Docker, cloud computing, or similar technologies.
