About the Position

At Philips, we are excited to offer the position of Senior AI Developer at our rapidly growing Digital Innovation - AI Center of Excellence. This role is based in Rome and focuses on pushing the boundaries through revolutionary AI technology applications. As a Senior AI Developer, you will:

- Develop AI-driven projects, whether for internal process optimization or integrated into innovative software solutions for our clients;
- Actively contribute to the growth of our AI department, especially within Natural Language Understanding and Computer Engineering;
- Participate in the AI product lifecycle from business case analysis, model tuning, to developing application components, and crafting ideal User Experiences;
- Navigate a structured international and multicultural environment, emphasizing strategic methodological and relational aspects;
- Ensure the delivery of project deliverables agreed with Project Managers and stakeholders, adhering to shared budget and quality constraints;
- Provide application support to AI-based solutions utilizing Large Language Models and Computer Vision, both existing and newly developed.

What You Bring to the Role

The ideal candidate for the Senior AI Developer role should possess:

- A degree in STEM disciplines with at least two years of relevant industry experience;
- Experience in developing and training models using Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision technologies across popular frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) and SaaS services (Google Vertex AI, Azure Cognitive Services);
- Proficiency in Python for developing AI-based solutions and keen interest in working with Large Language Models and Computer Vision technologies;
- Familiarity with Semantic Web, advanced search engine architectures (Elastic Search, Solr, Lucene);
- Experience with NoSQL data structures (MongoDB, Hadoop ecosystems);
- Expertise in object-oriented programming languages such as Java/Scala, C++, or Python;
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to perform continuous learning, active listening, and synthesis skills;
- Ability to manage projects independently while coordinating with less experienced resources when necessary;
- Highly motivated, curious, with a strong sense of professional responsibility;
- Advanced proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
