About the Role: Senior AI Engineer

AppZen is seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Engineer to join our growing Data and AI team. If you're passionate about building scalable Data and AI infrastructure from the ground up, this role is perfect for you. You will collaborate with a talented team of Software Engineers and AI Engineers to create revolutionary products.

This position offers the flexibility to telecommute, with the requirement to work onsite at least three days a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently design and deploy large-scale, user-facing streaming and batch systems that deliver products to hundreds of major corporations relying on AppZen’s AI-driven analytics for financial assessment.
• Utilize data streaming technologies, including Kafka Connectors, to process substantial quantities of data.
• Develop software within the AWS open-source cloud environment, leveraging databases such as Postgres, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, and Amazon S3.
• Build applications within a microservice architecture framework, ensuring they are maintainable, loosely coupled, and optimized for high availability and scalability.
• Create algorithms and translate business logic into code using Golang, Python, C++, and Java.
• Manage and process data employing complex business logic on popular infrastructure tools.
• Work with observability tools for monitoring production systems.
• Collaborate effectively within a DevOps environment using Agile/Scrum, partnering with cross-functional teams in engineering and product management to achieve common business and technical objectives.
• Identify and execute high-impact corporate projects, triage external requests, and complete projects timely to ensure the results are actionable.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 36 months of experience as a Software Engineer or in a related occupation.
• 18 months of experience in designing and deploying large-scale, user-facing streaming and batch systems; processing large quantities of data using data streaming technologies; developing software within AWS; and translating business logic to code with Python, C++, and Java.
• Proficiency in Golang.
