About the Role

As a Senior Analytics Data Specialist, you will be fundamental in your role as a Data Specialist (a.k.a Data Product Owner). Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, and Business Analysts/Owners to create scalable data models with pre-calculated metrics. Utilize Business Intelligence or ETL tools to build and publish reusable data sources. Document data sources/views, business metrics, and conduct enablement sessions to improve data and metrics awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Data Models: Serve as Data Product Owner for a portfolio of data warehouse business views to support Business Intelligence and Analytics use cases.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct data and gap analysis to ensure data views support Business Intelligence and Analytics use cases.
  • Data Preparation: Maintain and optimize non-systems data inputs. Automate data preparation activities using SQL, DBT, or Alteryx.
  • Data Delivery: Partner with Data Engineering to deliver data and metrics. Validate, sign-off, and manage go-lives for data sources.
  • Metric Governance: Create, maintain, and update documentation on certified datasets and metric definitions.
  • Data/BI Security: Handle automated dashboard access and security models ensuring consistent security across users.
  • Enablement: Document and train Analysts on business views, metrics, access, and security.
  • Optimization: Optimize data sources and consult on dashboard optimization following best practices.
  • Troubleshoot: Resolve data, dashboard, and security issues.
  • Tools & Systems: Analyze and manage system changes and platform upgrades affecting data and dashboards.
  • Published/Certified Data Sources: Build and publish data sources to support dashboard requirements and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Dashboards: Occasionally contribute to building and enhancing dashboards using Tableau, Salesforce, or PowerBI.
