About This Role

As an Applied Scientist in our Simulation group, you will play a crucial role in tackling one of the most challenging issues in autonomous driving – evaluating the performance of the autonomous driving software stack in simulated environments before it is deployed on public roads.

Your expertise in robotics, machine learning, optimization, and your robust software engineering skills will drive innovation from concept to production. You’ll leverage high-fidelity, high-performance simulations to train and test our Autonomous Vehicle (AV) stack, ensuring precision and safety in future deployments.

What You Will Do

Your work at Cruise will involve:

  • Developing new technologies that enhance the capabilities of our simulations.
  • Collaborating with various engineering teams to integrate these technologies effectively.
  • Maintaining an in-depth understanding of our autonomous driving software and simulation tools.

Required Skills

  • Advanced degree (BS, MS, PhD) in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience with a strong focus on C++ programming.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting, delivering high-quality results.
  • A passion for innovation in the autonomous vehicle space.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with robotic simulation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Python alongside C++.

The salary range for this position is $161,200 - $237,000, depending on your experience and location. This role also includes potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
