Our Applied Science Map Service team is at the forefront of engineering and applied science, specializing in cutting-edge deep learning models, large language models, and pioneering conversational map and direction search experiences. We innovate using attention architectures, graph neural networks, and learning-to-rank models, significantly enhancing search services and user experiences. You'll play a crucial role in developing solutions for scalable query understanding, enhancing retrieval and ranking processes, and applying novel approaches to ETA prediction in routing.

Responsibilities

This role requires leadership in driving projects from conception through to implementation, including:

• Designing, experimenting, and shipping products directly to users.
• Understanding and preprocessing data for insightful user analytics and model training.
• Integrating long-term research with immediate product needs to bring groundbreaking technology into production.
• Facilitating collaboration between research entities and development teams to ensure the practical application of advanced technology.
• Developing cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning algorithms, from prototyping to deployment, to enhance our search and information retrieval systems.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or closely related fields, along with relevant experience such as statistics, predictive analytics, and research. OR equivalent experience.

Preferred:

• Prior experience with publications, presentations at significant conferences, involvement in research programs, and development/deployment of live production systems.
• Experience throughout the product cycle, from ideation to shipping, particularly in statistics, predictive analytics, research, and working with maps data.
