The Opportunity

The Data Science team at 9fin is expanding! We're doing pioneering work with innovative technologies to construct data-driven products using machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, speech and audio, and knowledge/data mining. We're in search of a Senior ML Applied Scientist to aid us in enhancing and establishing our capabilities. Join us, and you'll have the chance to build large scale machine learning systems, apply the latest techniques, and collaborate with other skilled researchers and engineers.

Your role

Though everyday will be unique, below are some tasks you may engage in:

• Lead the entirety of the model development lifecycle, guiding the team in best practices and ensuring research reproducibility and well-structured model delivery/deployment.
• Provide cross-functional collaboration in order to share a multitude of ideas, comprehend business challenges, and support and uplift your colleagues.
• Break complex problems down into well-scoped bets in a dynamic, fast-paced, internal startup-styled environment.
• Utilize and apply innovative research and techniques in advanced topics, continuously improving through a fail-fast mentality.
• Promote your groundbreaking ideas and work to the rest of the team and organization. We want you to lead and propagate the use of AI throughout 9fin.

Requirements

You'd be a good fit for this role if you:

• Have strong proficiency in Python and SQL, and possess robust programming skills.
• Have practical experience in at least one of the following areas: Natural Language Processing (NLP), Recommender Systems, Time Series Analysis.
• Are familiar with the architecture and implementation of one or more machine learning frameworks (such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
• Have experience working on the whole model lifecycle, including experimentation, training, testing, monitoring, and deployment.
• Have knowledge of AWS or GCP machine learning infrastructure (this is a plus).
