Job Opportunity: Senior AWS Data Engineer in Houston, Texas

What You Can Expect

Join our dynamic team in Houston, Texas, as a Senior AWS Data Engineer. You'll collaborate with Data Analysts to ensure enterprise data is cataloged in alignment with data governance standards, utilizing the design, development, and maintenance of data solutions powered by AWS. Reporting to the IT Director of Cloud Solutions, you'll offer technical expertise to facilitate business growth and manage the critical input and output of data.

What You’ll Bring

To qualify for this exciting role, you should have the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, along with a minimum of five (5) years of IT experience, including systems and application development. Alternatively, a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience without a four-year degree, with in-depth knowledge of Data Engineering and Data Visualization.
  • Minimum of AWS Certified Data Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate certification.
  • Strong knowledge of digital platforms like AWS, Dataiku, and Databricks.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in developing, testing, and deploying data pipelines, data lakes, warehouses, and data marts using AWS services like S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, and Lambda.
  • Proven ability to implement data ingestion, processing, transformation, and delivery using batch, streaming, and real-time methods.
  • Expertise in designing and building scalable data architectures on AWS, utilizing services such as S3, EMR, Data Lake Formation, AWS Glue, and Amazon Athena.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools/methodologies like Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of ETL tools and frameworks, including Apache Spark, Airflow, AWS IoT Analytics, IoT Device Management, and AWS IoT Events.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, SQL, Spark, and Unix shell scripting, including the AWS CLI.

This position qualifies for our hybrid work policy. Additionally:

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,100 – $147,660 USD annually. This range represents the average expected pay for a qualified candidate, but the actual salary offered may vary based on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other factors.
