Senior BI Data Engineer

The Data Team forms the backbone of our data infrastructure. We're on a mission to enable the organization with dependable, accessible, and practical data, inform decision-making and promote innovation. We establish data engineering standards, tools, and best practices. We manage worldwide datasets that traverse the enterprise, guaranteeing access to all data and spearheading data intelligence and enrichment. Our objective is to prepare the organization for both immediate impact and enduring future success.

Requirements

Shipping & handling responsibilities:

• In charge of total data design and modeling across the organization's data systems, especially data design in the primary data platforms (data warehouses, data lakes), with a focus on data analytics and data reporting and visualization
• In charge of data management across several data systems: data governance, data mastering, metadata management, data definitions, semantic-layer design, data taxonomies and ontologies
• Constructing and delivering highly-scalable, flexible, cost-effective enterprise data solutions
• Designing, and documenting data architecture at various levels (high-level to detailed) and across multiple views (conceptual, logical, physical, data flow and sequence diagrams)
• Actively providing "hands-on" architectural guidance and leadership throughout the development project lifecycle
• Translating business necessities into conceptual and comprehensive technology solutions
• Closely collaborating with partners across the organization including other architects, engineering, and product managers, and business partners
• Conducting third-party vendor assessments
• Designing and steering proof-of-concepts projects
• Staying current with industry and marketplace evolution—maintaining familiarity with vendor product offerings and common and emerging data solutions across the industry; continuously learning new data technologies and introducing these into the organization
• Partaking in cross-training peers and mentoring teammates

• +8 years of relevant professional experience in Data Engineering related roles.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
• Considerable experience in Business Intelligence tools and reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools.
• Solid comprehension of data warehousing concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Our Compensation Shippolicy:

The actual base pay depends on various factors, such as: financial budgets, work experience, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market value. The base pay ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future. Total compensation for this role will include equity, medical, dental, vision and other benefits listed in our Shippo “package” section.
