Position Summary
As a BI Developer, you will develop robust BI solutions such as self-service dashboards, data pipelines, and workflows. You'll transform business requirements into technical solutions with a strong focus on visualizations. Excellent communication with various stakeholders, including Business units, the Marketing department, and other Data and Analytics teams, is crucial.
Role and Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Business Owners, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Data Scientists to align business requirements with data solutions.
- Map requirements and projects from various stakeholders, including Business Divisions and Marketing Strategy teams.
- Establish collaboration with European and global teams on BI and Analytics projects.
- Promote data-driven decision-making through clear and intuitive communication of technical concepts.
- Train and guide stakeholders in utilizing BI tools and solutions.
Data Visualization and Reports Creation
- Create and maintain automated reporting processes for Sales, Marketing, Operations, etc.
- Manage self-service data visualization projects by developing foundational layers for dashboard reporting.
- Convert data into dashboards, graphs, charts, and reports using BI tools such as Power BI.
- Develop and manage BI extension tools for user interaction, such as PowerApps.
- Automate reporting via paginated reports in Power BI or PowerAutomate.
- Utilize Robotic Process Automation to generate standard marketing performance reports.
- Handle ad-hoc report and data requests.
Data Engineering
- Collect and connect data from multiple sources such as GCP, Azure, and local servers based on business needs.
- Model raw data into clean, tested, and reusable datasets.
- Apply various and automated transformations (ETL, ELT) to data pieces.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting activities for data engineering and BI tools, guiding junior team members as needed.
Data Infrastructure and Governance Support
- Support Data Warehouse governance and access management.
- Recommend strategies to enhance the performance and capacity of BI tools.
- Support and advise on developing security and authentication standards.
- Maintain technical architecture documents accurately.
- Help define BI standards, guidelines, and best practices for business and technical teams.
Your Team
You'll be part of the BI team within the Central Data Analytics group, which plays a crucial role in Samsung's Data & Analytics success. Our team consists of skilled data engineers, BI & visualization developers, and collaborates closely with the Advanced Analytics team.
Skills and Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Business Information Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in BI, Dashboard Development, or Analytics.
- Technical expertise in ETL, relational database management, and data modeling using tools like Python, SQL, and BigQuery.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Knowledge and hands-on skills in data engineering, API, and cloud computing (GCP, Azure, and Databricks).
- Fluency in English.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while forging strong relationships within and outside the department.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Skills in PowerApps and PowerAutomate.
- Experience in Robotic Process Automation and web scraping.
- Knowledge in Statistics, Econometrics, and Machine Learning.
- Hands-on experience in Machine Learning engineering.
