Project
As a Senior Developer, your role will involve addressing various business challenges in the technology field. Your day-to-day responsibilities entail designing, developing, unit testing, and documenting software systems.
Job Description
- Leading investigations into new technologies while designing new solutions; fostering a culture of innovation considering aspects such as security, scalability, and reliability.
- Working with a modern data stack to come up with well-thought out technical solutions and solid code, while implementing data governance processes.
- Being responsible for the delivery of significant solution features.
- Participating in requirement gathering and clarification process, proposing the best architecture strategies, and leading the data architecture implementation.
- Developing core modules and functions, and designing scalable and cost-effective solutions.
- Performing code reviews, writing unit and integration tests.
- Providing input into technical project documentation and user documentation when needed.
- Participating in project meetings and team meetings, contributing valuable information.
- Communicating with the customer on complex issues, discussions, and negotiations.
- Participating in technical interviews of software developer specialists; evaluating the abilities of candidates against job requirements.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Solid understanding of Spark (using Scala).
- Knowledge about serialization formats and their pros and cons (columnar vs. row-based).
- Experience in debugging and optimizing Spark jobs.
- Knowledge of columnar databases, key-value stores, document stores, stream processing, time-series databases, data warehouses, and OLAP.
- Understanding of basic database principles, like ACID, snowflake schema, and normalized/denormalized data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of Upper-Intermediate level proficiency in English.
Nice to Have:
- Working experience with GCP, Bigtable, BigQuery, RDBMS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Familiarity with Data Science tooling in Spark.
- Experience in the advertising industry.
- Experience with real-time analytics.
