Amazon Prime is seeking skilled Senior Business Intelligence Engineers to aid in the evolution of Prime, Amazon's premier membership service. The Prime Decision Sciences team comprises of Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, Research Scientists, and Product Managers, and its goal is to facilitate insight-driven decision making for Amazon Prime globally. We support decision-making through data analysis, construct analytical products for self-service reporting; we devise machine learning-driven targets, and establish software solutions which expedite Prime's innovation. Prime, being among the most visible groups throughout Amazon, is crucial to the Amazon flywheel. We use data-driven insights to offer customers relevant and attractive benefits in over 15 countries. This is a fantastic opportunity for Senior Business Intelligence Engineers to devise novel ways of engaging with and interpreting business metrics, and to shape the future of Prime globally. You will have the opportunity to interact with and understand all aspects of customers' experiences with Amazon, from subscription patterns to shipping use, from utilization of digital benefits (Music/Video/Reading/Twitch) to payments and fraud. Your work will span the full development cycle of analytical investigations, self-service reporting, and data science projects. You will employ your outstanding communication and technical skills to transform a range of business problems into analytical solutions, collaborating with and challenging business owners (Marketing and Product Managers) to make superior decisions for Amazon and our customers. Key Job Responsibilities: - Uncovering insights about our customers that direct the progression of the Prime program - Providing thought leadership as a trusted, cross-functional Business Intelligence expert - Developing analytical services and products that address business problems and facilitate effective decision-making at scale - Mediating between Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Finance, and Product Management teams to influence priority setting and drive project requirements - Supervising and mentor less experienced engineers, offering guidance on analytical approaches, prioritization disputes, and framing complex business problems We welcome candidates willing to work in one of the following locations: Seattle, WA, USA. Basic Qualifications: - 5 or more years of experience with SQL - 5 or more years of professional or military experience - Experience with programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets - Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills - Experience with AWS technologies - Familiarity with information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining theory and practice - Experience with designing experiments and analysing statistical results theory and practice Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working closely with business stakeholders to interpret between data and business needs - Experience managing, analysing and communicating results to senior leadership - Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a similar quantitative field Amazon promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position can range from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by factors such as location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon provides total compensation which, dependent on the position offered, can include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation.
